Subang Jaya, 11 September 2018: Taylor’s University broke into the 2019 QS Graduate Employability Rankings as the fourth best university in the world and Asia’s best for the graduate employment rate indicator.
Taylor’s University Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Michael Driscoll expressed his elation over this achievement, which is a great one for a young university.
“This achievement is testament to the strong relationship that Taylor’s has nurtured with employers, allowing us to craft a curriculum that gives our students the skills and knowledge they will need for their respective careers.
“This latest achievement comes on the heels of our strong performance in the area of employer reputation in the 2019 QS World University Rankings, which saw us place at the 216th rank internationally, or within the top 1 per cent of tertiary institutions in the world favoured by employers; which is testament to the quality of graduates we produce.
“Taylor’s is the only Malaysian private university to be listed in the top 10 universities in Malaysia in both the QS World University Rankings and the QS Asia University Rankings. We are also now the only private university to be recognised for its graduate employment rate,” said Professor Driscoll, adding that these achievements were built on the hard work and dedication of all its staff.
In addition to performing strongly in this indicator, Taylor’s University also placed at the top of the table for two other indicators; employer reputation and employer-student connection.
Currently in its fourth edition, the 2019 QS Graduate Employability Ranking awards scores in five categories, namely employer reputation; alumni outcomes; employer partnerships; employer-student connections and graduate employment rates. Taylor’s University is placed in the 201-250 grouping for the overall ranking exercise.
